Industrial Relations
The Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DAER) is leader in research in the aerospace sector, contributing to the innovation in the sector and to the development of new technologies.
The relationship with the industry has a central role in the Department’s strategic plans. Projects developed in collaboration with the industry constitute the main activities in which DAER faculty and researchers are engaged. Projects can be totally funded by the industry or partially supported by public bodies, mainly by European bodies.
DAER fosters the development of long-term strategic alliances with top companies, through the sharing of research and development activities, the joint participation to public research programs, the co-authoring of patents, and the organization of training activities. Strategic partnerships have been signed with Alenia Aermacchi - A Finmeccanica Company, and with Airbus Group.
DAER continuously monitors, in collaboration with leading companies, the requirements of the job market in the aerospace sector, to ensure that graduates acquire skills and knowledge that match the requirements of research and development in the industry.
DAER maintains research and testing labs equipped with up-to-date infrastructures that are needed to grant highly specialized services to the industries.
